Successful Events at Schenectady Central Library

Updated: Dec 14, 2021

Niskayuna teen educator and founder of HandsOnSTEM Inc., Jeffrey Chen, presented 3 days of hands-on science experiments for kids in grade 2-5 on Aug.25th to Aug. 27, 2021. Classes held in person at Karen B Johnson Central library in the McChesney Room. Science topics included Newton’s law, air pressure, surface tension, etc. There were 10-12 kids participated every day, which was the limit capacity given COVID guidance.

The coordinator of Youth Services, Kaela Wallman thanked Jeffrey for not only showing kids how to conduct these fun experiments, but also explaining the science principle behind them. Kaela asked Jeffrey to conduct another session, probably early next year. April Fernandez from Niskayuna library branch also came to watch the last day session. April said that she’d like to book Jeffrey’s program at Niskayuna next Spring.
